Educators without Borders International held a webinar on micro-credentials and their importance to certify learning outcomes and the role of digital learning in enhancing individuals' skills in various fields, on April 25, 2022.
The webinar highlighted the role of micro-credentials amid the rapid changes in the labor market and the shifting focus of employment to emerging professions that require different skills not provided by higher education institutions.
It also stressed the need for innovative solutions in emergency situations such as wars and disasters, or in remote and underprivileged areas.
The webinar discussed the developments that occurred in the field of micro-credentials during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how the micro-credentials helped provide the labor market with skilled individuals after the closure of traditional educational institutions.
It also presented a set of successful models of self-learning experience using technology, highlighting the most reputable institutions that offer digital certificates, as well as the challenges facing this model of education, and how they were overcome.
