EWB Hold "Challenges of People with Disabilities in Developing Countries & Appropriate Solutions"

Educators without Borders (EWB) held, on Saturday June 20^th 2020, a seminar titled "Challenges of People with Disabilities in Developing Countries & Appropriate Solutions", in which a number of social and psychological specialists in the field of education from Iraq, Morocco, Egypt, and Jordan, participated to discuss the most prominent and important challenges they face in this field, varying from social, moral, and psychological aspects as well.

The panel discussion focused on several axes, the most important of which was to highlight the obstacles for teachers and their students with disabilities, and to search as well for ways and solutions for these obstacles in order to advance and develop the educational process in general.

A number of challenges were highlighted as well, the most important of which was how to apply quick and practical methods to teach blind students, whether in "Braille" or other ways, as well as teaching deaf and dumb students by bringing teachers who are able to explain and teach by sign language, in order to ensure delivering the information to these students in a clear way.

Participants in the session also mentioned their experiences in teaching to students with disabilities and what they achieved so far in this field, in addition to their attempts and efforts to enhance education in their developing countries, as well as the officials’ efforts to develop the education sector.

It is worth mentioning that Educators without Borders is an international organization based in Geneva, concerned with providing educational services for children in affected regions, and improving training services in crisis areas.
